NEW Den Furniture!
Robert and I have been together as a couple 9 years. Hard
to believe. Married 3. In those nine years we have lived in a duplex, bought
our first home in 2011 and then recently purchased a larger home in 2015 in our
dream neighborhood. Through all of those years we have pieced furniture
together, hand-me-downs from friends and family, thrift stores, yard sales ect.
There have been a few staple pieces we've splurged on (especially our mattress, i'm embarrassed by how much money we spent on that thing), but mainly we haven't
bought anything new.
When we moved into our new house we went from a 1200 sqft
home to an almost 3000 sqft home. To say we needed more furniture was an
understatement. Rooms were bare but I told Robert to be patient and that over
time we would add additional things and that it would all come together. At
times furniture didn't match, there was no theme or style of the rooms and they
looked down right horrible, but I refuse to go in debt over furniture. I am a
freak of nature when it comes to budgeting and living within our means and I
firmly believe that you really shouldn't buy stuff if you can't afford it. So, we sucked it up and lived in our uncoordinated house for the last year with the
goal to save a ton and be able to buy all new den furniture sometime this
summer! Well that day has finally come! Yay!
We looked and looked at different furniture stores and
finally decided to buy from an awesome store called Water's Home Furnishings. A
little bit of back ground info: (The day we were supposed to close on our home,
long story short, we weren't able to close due to an issue on the sellers side,
so while trying to kill time and wait for their bank to send some information,
we decided to venture over to Water's, it just so happened they were having a
huge sale and had marked down some awesome pieces on clearance and we scooped up
a TV Stand, dining room table and a buffet.) Since that day, we
knew we wanted to buy our new den furniture from there but just needed to save!
We thought we wanted a sectional because the den is HUGE
and that's what we have had in the past, but thanks to Brent, the manager and
interior designer at the furniture store, he offered to come by and measure and
help us pick pieces that would look perfect and match our non-negotiable
Persian rug. Brent was so helpful, dealt with my crazy ideas and helped us pick
fabrics that matched, would hide Grady's hair and be durable to last a long
time.
Our furniture was delivered Friday and so far we are
pretty happy with how it's all turned out. We need a piece for the corner to
the left of the couch and we are thinking about getting a skirted table but I
would welcome your suggestions if you have better ideas! Enjoy the photo dump
