I just got a text from my godbrother who recently lost his grandmother to breast cancer, and I wanted to share it with yall. Josh said "Not sure if you meant it but in your stuff about lung cancer being forgotten in the last few days, you come off as very... I dont know the best way to put it but the most polite is probably desensitized to breast cancer. I get what you are trying to get across but other might not. It seems very close to, "Forget breast cancer. Thats not even the worst one." Just thought I would let you know so you dont allienate a potential proponent for awareness because they get turned off." For Nannie… First off I want to apologize for my terrible grammar and sometimes spelling… this blog is intended for me to share my stories, vent, be emotional, and passionate. So sometimes when I get writing all grammar goes out the window and I just write. I hope I don’t offend anyone or upset anyone but at times I will come across blunt and harsh… However…the truth is… the lung cancer world is harsh and blunt and not fair! So when I write it might come across that way. My Nannie was one of the most amazing women I have ever met. If there was a beautiful woman in this world it was her. She was so beautiful, her hair was platinum blonde and I don’t think I ever caught her without lipstick on at least. She would pin her hair up before she went to bed every night and her outfits always were classy and coordinated. She loved clothes and fashion. Her faith was impressive… something I yearn to have every day. She had such a positive outlook on life and not a care in the world. And ...

Memorial Day Weekend Relaxation

My husband and I were planning to go the the beach this weekend to celebrate memorial day weekend with my family as well as my moms birthday, however we decided to stay put here in Greenville because the weatherman was calling for horrible weather. Unfortunately, the weather folks were completely wrong and it ended up being a beautiful weekend at the beach but that's okay because we are headed to the beach this weekend to do a little belated birthday celebrating for my momma! I think almost all of my family will be there, which always means a wild and crazy time!  Since we decided to stay in Greenville for the weekend, it meant lots of quality time together. We also spent some time running errands, shopping, boating, cleaning, napping and enjoying downtime which rarely happens at our house.
