Guess who's back, back again?!?!

Whew, been missing in action for a while! My last post from August 2016 (Yikes!) was about how I am the worst blogger on the planet. That’s probably because I am. I haven’t posted in two years. How in the heck did that happen? Oh, that’s right, I was working full-time on the biggest project of my life and also in graduate school full-time. Thus, no time for the blog. But, guess what? I’m back y’all! A lot has happened in the last two years and I am hoping I will be able to post a few major milestones in the next few posts to bring you up to speed on all that has happened, but for now, here a quick list of major things that have gone on in our life!           Started and finished my Masters in Public Administration at East Carolina University (ECU). I was awarded two scholarships and my company covered a major part of the cost as well!           Became the Spokesperson for Your Cancer Game Plan, partnering with Merck and other leading cancer advocacy organizations fo

Most Awful Blogger on the Planet....

I may be the worst blogger on this planet...... How has it been almost a month since I have written a post?!? Whew, life gets busy and this seems to always be the first thing that gets put by the wayside. I promise I am going to try and do better, but that doesn’t mean it will actually happen. Especially since it is about to be the most busy time of our year. Its football season! Yay!  Not to mention, I am going back to grad school, finally. When I was working at ECU, I was able to talk a few graduate level classes without formally applying to the MPA (Masters of Public Administration) program because they allow employees to take non-degree grad classes as long as they are able to keep up. Well, once I left ECU to come work at Vidant, it meant that I had to formally apply and get accepted. I also had to work at Vidant for at least 6 months before I could qualify for tuition reimbursement… well that 6 months turned into two years that I hadn’t taken a class. Finally, I decided that

Chi Omega Convention

This past weekend I had the opportunity to travel to Orlando for Chi Omega’s 61 st Bi-Annual National Convention. For those of you who do not know, I am an advisor for Chi Omega here at ECU, my alma mater. Often times, Chi Omega likes for advisors to be five years removed from undergraduate before they start advising however, since most of our alums move away from Greenville after graduation, we unfortunately do not have a very large alumni base, which means we are always in desperate need for advisors. Thus, I started advising four years ago, only two years after graduation. However, this was my first convention and it was a blast!  It was so cool to see so many amazing and strong women. We got to spend time with women from across the country, attended workshops and training's, attend the Model Initiation where a young collegian was initiated in front of 1200 Chi Omega women. She is a 3 rd generation and the 4 th women in her family to be a Chi Omega. It was incredible and

NEW Den Furniture!

Robert and I have been together as a couple 9 years. Hard to believe. Married 3. In those nine years we have lived in a duplex, bought our first home in 2011 and then recently purchased a larger home in 2015 in our dream neighborhood. Through all of those years we have pieced furniture together, hand-me-downs from friends and family, thrift stores, yard sales ect. There have been a few staple pieces we've splurged on (especially our mattress, i'm embarrassed by how much money we spent on that thing), but mainly we haven't bought anything new. When we moved into our new house we went from a 1200 sqft home to an almost 3000 sqft home. To say we needed more furniture was an understatement. Rooms were bare but I told Robert to be patient and that over time we would add additional things and that it would all come together. At times furniture didn't match, there was no theme or style of the rooms and they looked down right horrible, but I refuse to go in debt over fur
